This Is What BZD Has Accomplished With The Help Of Our Donors :

  • Staff a full- time senior community Shaliach or Shlicha (Israel Emissary) who works with different synagogues, schools, agencies, and other community partners in order to create and enrich educational content regarding Israel.

  • Due to the impact of COVID-19 the BZD has been able to successfully plan and implement over 40 virtual programs that have been free and open to the Jewish community around the globe. Each program provided content relating to Israeli society, culture, the land and the people.

  • For the past 25 year, we have welcomed the “Maccabi Tzair” Delegation during Hanukkah, celebrated the holiday with them, introduced them to local students and seniors so they could educate, inform and share their experiences during their time in the IDF.

  • We organized and lead a community-wide Yom HaZikaron Memorial Ceremony, to honor and remember Israel’s fallen soldiers and victims of terror.

  • Prior to COVID-19 we partnered with WZO and held a variety hands-on cooking workshop with a local chef and blogger and connected our community to each other through the love of Israeli food.

  • Each year, we worked with various partners to make Israel’s birthday is a successful celebration for our community.

  • At the end of each summer, we welcome the Tzofim Caravan (Israeli Scouts) which enthusiastically shares a piece of Israel with Baltimore through Israeli songs, dances, and stories.

  • Each year the BZD offers one of the most comprehensive four-week summer teen trip to Israel that is subsidized by 50% for all Baltimore teens.

    • To ensure that our teens get the full Israel experience, we are lucky enough to partner with Maccabi World Union.
